Meet The Girl Of The Year Dolls

American Girl Doll Company has been popular for their historical dolls which have their own interesting stories to tell about American history. But the most interesting move that Mattel made over the years for this doll line was the launching of the “Girl of the Year” dolls. These are modern day dolls that are available for a limited period of around a year or a year and a half before they are retired. The doll characters that belong to this series are typically ten years of age during the year that they are introduced. Their story lines are set in modern day America where it expounds on the character’s personality, hobbies, and interests.
The story books were marketed for children age 8 years old and above. Currently, the paperback books have ten short chapters each whereas it used to have five to six chapters. Typically, each “Girl of the Year” character has two books written for them and the first book is bundled with the doll. The second book for the series can be purchased separately. The books written for these characters were also set in the first person narrative form. The doll characters are also made with a selection of fabulously designed outfits and accessory sets.
